Paula Horczak
Experimental psychologist - Teaching assistant & PhD researcher at the Department of Head and Skin at Ghent University.
I am an experimental psychologist with a background in clinical psychology. I became a researcher because I have always been interested in figuring out how the brain functions and dysfunctions.
I joined the GHEP lab in December 2022 as a PhD researcher and a teaching assistant for the Department of Head and Skin at Ghent University. In my research I focus on neurophysiological biomarkers and treatment outcomes of transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation and transcranial direct current stimulation in depression.
As an intern at the GHEP lab (2019), I studied respiration-linked brain responses to transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation. After my graduation, I worked on several interesting projects in various fields, ranging from healthcare and health economics to marketing research.
