Combining neurostimulation with group cognitive behavioral therapy to treat rumination

Ever find yourself caught up in endless thoughts? It's a common trait of the human mind, but sometimes it becomes overwhelming. Emerging evidence suggests that excessive worrying is a vulnerability factor for various psychological and psychiatric challenges. Individuals who frequently ruminate face an increased risk of developing anxiety and mood disorders. Moreover, persistent worrying extends the presence of psychological issues, making relapse more likely.

Studies show that both neurostimulation and psychotherapy offer positive effects on excessive worrying. In this project, we're delving into the potential of a combined treatment approach using neurostimulation (transcranial direct current stimulation - tDCS) and psychotherapy (‘Piekercursus’).
